"Dear Ask Travel Editors.com We recently received a very special offer from a well known online travel company / travel agency to book a hotel room for a knock down price. As we love to travel, we jumped at the chance to grab a bargain. We tried to book the hotel room online but it was at the normal price. We telephoned the company and mentioned the email hotel offer. We were informed that we could not book at the bargain price that was mentioned in the email - that price was only given to some of the people booking that day. In other words, it was a lucky draw - you took a chance when booking: you would pay the normal rate unless you were lucky enough to be selected for the bargain priced offer. We informed the company that they should not send out misleading email offers - they should make it clear that it was a lucky draw. The response? If we wanted to, we could write to their marketing department to complain. Pathetic communications, pathetic customer service. " Send us your Travel Tips and we may publish them.
