Travel Awards - World Tourism Award - Travel Destinations, Tourist Attractions

The Fifth Annual World Tourism Award, co-sponsored by American Express Company (AMEX), International Herald Tribune (IHT) and Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), was presented at a special ceremony at the World Travel Market.  The Award Honoree is the Worlds Monuments Fund (WMF), and international organization headquartered in New York City.

The Award is in recognition of the World Monument Fund's "leadership role in the rescue and preservation of the world's imperiled works of art and architecture, monuments and sites, crossing geographic, cultural and natural boundaries to preserve the world's rich and diverse culture heritage for generations to come."
